CLERMONT 250 CELEBRATION

"The Key to the Future"

We are excited to celebrate the America 250, a nationwide, multi-year effort to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our country and the Declaration of Independence now through July 4, 2026.  In Clermont County, several public art murals will showcase moments and figures in the region’s 250-year history. These murals will celebrate the county’s heritage, history and pride.

In June, our village proudly unveiled the mural entitled "The Key to the Future" painted by our own Monica Rosselot.  This striking artwork showcases a colonial soldier poised with his gun at rest, representing his readiness to defend his newfound freedom. The imaginary key he holds in his right hand symbolizes the promise of a flourishing nation ahead. Notably,  the mural features two significant dates: 1776, marking the 250th anniversary of our country, and 1836,  the year Boston, now known as Owensville, was established or laid out.
